The rooms of Palazzo Besso
Entrance hall and main staircase
In the main courtyard you can admire the gallery , closed with windows and with rich moldings and friezes, an elegant example of the metal construction techniques of the late nineteenth century; also the entrance hall clearly denounces the eclectic taste of the period with stucco ceilings with geometric and floral motifs and large iron and glass chandeliers. The whole is a prelude to the evocative scenographic effect of the staircase with the double ramp in Carrara marble, the original solution of two central coupled columns and the monumental roofing skylight.

stucco ceilings with geometric and floral motifs and large iron and glass chandeliers
The raising of two floors of the building during the late nineteenth-century renovation led to the need for the construction of a new and spectacular staircase, with cast iron columns covered in faux marble and a large roof skylight, which can be considered among the first examples of application. of "iron and glass" in residential construction.
