the House of Marco Besso
Located on the noble floor of the building, it can be reconstructed through the vintage photographs of the Vasari brothers, taken before the foundation of the Foundation (1918).
The main floor is characterized by a succession of extremely refined environments for finishes and decorations.
The wooden ceilings, coffered or vaulted, frescoed in different periods, are counterpointed by various types of marble floors according to regular or geometric shapes, parquet of precious essences, walnut window frames, friezes and period furnishings.
An element present everywhere in various stylistic forms is the 'dove with an olive branch' with the motto, at illa venit ad eum portans ramum olivae , a symbol of peace which later became the cartouche and the logo of the Foundation.
In these environments you can also admire the splendid

Scheme of Marco Besso's house and then the headquarters of the Foundation in the years 1917-18
